The Council maintains in excess of 705 kilometres of roads, with 182 kilometres of seal roads and 522 kilometres of unsealed roads. Council also is responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of the footpaths and kerb and channel within the various towns.

In addition to the Council maintained roads, the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) a division of the State Government is responsible for the maintenance of the following roads within the Huon Valley:

• Huon Highway
• Channel Highway
• Lymington Road (from Cygnet to Forsters Rivulet Road)
• Nicholls Rivulet Road
• Scotts Road
• Glen Huon Road
• Ranelagh Secondary Road (from Huonville via Wilmot Road - Agnes Street - Lollara Road through to the Huon Highway)
